Univision Communications (CBN) has announced that its flagship portal, Movistar, will get 5 gigabits per second of mobile broadband.
This is a huge step towards delivering 5G coverage across India, said an Univison spokesman.
Movistar is the biggest mobile broadband provider in the country.
It is the first to be launched in India with a 5G-capable network.
The news is likely to increase Movistar’s profile and help it gain traction in the market.
The company has been building its network in India since 2011.
This marks the first time that a major telco has rolled out 5G broadband in the entire country.
The move is expected to benefit Movistar from an increase in its mobile broadband network as well as from the presence of its broadband-capacitive smartphone.MOVIDER has a huge reach across India with more than 5 billion subscribers and more than 1 billion broadband connections.
Univision is also looking to add its service to its existing cable services.
Its cable service, Movido, is offering customers a 5 gigabit service.
The company’s other services, MoviVid, is a video streaming app and MoviVo, is an Internet video platform.
